The Proposal and Marketing Coordinator role is responsible for coordinating the proposal process from end to end as well as marketing and outreach activities in the BC marketplace. This role includes working with managers across various locations and departments on a variety of projects, all with the objective of promoting the Company’s profile and making business opportunities happen. Competitive bid processes are a key component of Emterra’s business model so this position will play a major role in the success and growth of the Company. This position be based in Emterra Environmental’s North Vancouver office.
 
What will you do?
  • Review and interpret Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI) and prequalification packages for new business;
  • Write and prepare Emterra’s response to RFPs from municipal and commercial customers;
  • Act as project manager throughout the RFP preparation and completion phases to ensure timely and accurate completion of proposal submission;
  • Analyze RFP/RFI requirements to ensure Emterra’s response is fully compliant with customer requirements;
  • Gather all required documentation/information for proposals, including producing documentation that complies with requirements and obtaining technical information from relevant parties;
  • Work closely with operational managers to ensure proposal submissions closely align with the operational environment;
  • Attend meetings with potential customers as part of the bid proposal process;
  • Identify upcoming or new proposal opportunities;
  • Partner with stakeholders to participate and collaborate on new business development;
  • Identify events and marketing opportunities that promote awareness among identified stakeholders, including local governments, trade associations and private businesses;
  • Coordinate, attend and host events on behalf of the Company, such as conferences, tradeshows, fairs and company celebrations;
  • Coordinate charitable community partnership projects through Emterra’s Community Cares Program;
  • Coordinate printing and production of print media, such as brochures and signage;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
What will you bring?
  • Completion of post secondary education, preferably in a program with extensive writing requirements;
  • 1 year’s experience in developing high quality documentation (e.g. RFP, RFI);
  • Strong leadership and  supervisory experience;
  • Strong skills in using technology and MS Office, particularly MS Word and Powerpoint;
  • A self-motivated attitude and highly detail-oriented practices;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to thrive in an environment with firm deadlines and multiple, concurrent assignments;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with employees at all levels of the organization;
  • Experience in the waste management and recycling industry an asset.
