Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Operations Recruiter will work collaboratively with the Operations team in coordinating and implementing effective recruitment and selection processes.  You will draft job descriptions, complete staffing requisition forms and process, post positions, screen resumes and candidates, schedule interviews, prepare and present offer letters, coordinate and deliver onboarding, maintain employee files, and maintain, track and analyze the recruitment statistics.  This role will also represent the Company by fostering awareness as an employer of choice with the goal of attracting and retaining the ideal candidates. You will represent the Company at job fairs and develop pools of candidates for various positions from post-secondary education organizations, including driving schools, skilled trades’ schools, new Canadian networks, etc.

Key Tasks:
  • Act as business partner with hiring managers hire and onboard the best candidates;
  • Efficiently and effectively fulfill the full-cycle recruitment process;
  • Develop job postings / job descriptions, screen candidates, coordinate, participate and support operations with interviews and coordinate pre-employment screenings, and prepare offer letters;   
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment and onboarding process;
  • Represent the Company at networking events and job fairs;
  • Develop pipelines of candidates for various positions from post-secondary education organizations, driving schools, skilled trades schools, new Canadian networks, etc.;
  •  Contribute to the continuous improvement of talent acquisition practices and resources;
  • Work with Corporate Communications, use social media to expand and improve the Emterra Recruitment Brand;
  • Maintain recruitment data and statistics; 
  • Work with the Corporate Human Resources team to analyze retention statistics and trends;
  • Work with VP of Operations on requirements and strategize for hiring and retention;
  • Coordinate and deliver on-boarding for new employees; and 
  • Other tasks as assigned.
 
Skills: 
  • Excellent interpersonal, teambuilding and oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organization in a multi-cultural environment;
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, deal with high volume recruiting and work effectively under pressure;
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite programs, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook;
  • Exceptional project management skills with proven track record of delivering recruitment programs and initiatives within a set time and budget;
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely and effectively in a team environment within all levels of the organization working toward common goals and sharing accountability; and
  • Proactive and highly results oriented.
 
Qualifications:
  • A degree/diploma in Business, Human Resources, or related discipline preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience); 
  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience (or equivalent) in the recruitment industry preferably in the transportation, logistics or trades related industries or within an agency;
  • Technical skills with MS Office Suite, Recruitment Management Systems software and/or web recruitment tools including, social media is required;
  • A commitment to customer service and the candidate experience with demonstrated ability to build relationships at various levels of an organization;
  • Ability to travel as required up to 40% of the time; and
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours occasionally.
