Our Regina Facility is searching for a “hands on” Plant Supervisor to join our team. The Plant Supervisor partners with the General Manager to maximize facility up time, daily production, and the recovery rate and purity/quality of materials produced, and ensure that plant, office and facility equipment and rolling stock is properly maintained through regular preventative maintenance.  This position plays an integral part in plant operations, special projects and supervises the direct reports and coordinates with the maintenance department. 

What will you do?
  • Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of plant staff which includes general labour and machine operators;
  • Under the direction of the General Manager, ensure that the plant production meets productivity goals and financial targets;
  • Ensure commodities produced meet the buyers’ specifications;
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure preventative maintenance is performed on schedule and downtime is minimized;
  • Work actively with scale and shipping personnel to coordinate material flowing in and out of the facility;
  • Ensure detailed coordination and communication with other shift supervisors/lead hands;
  • Prepare production, inventory and other reports as necessary;
  • Assist in training floor and sorting personnel on operations, quality specifications of recycled materials and safety procedures;
  • Provide recommendations to improve production and product quality;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What will you bring?
  • Grade 12 or GED equivalency; job related post-secondary education considered an asset;
  • Minimum 2-3 years previous experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing or processing environment;
  • Must be pro-active and willing to learn;
  • Must have good interpersonal skills, both verbal and written;
  • Experience running and operating fork-lift and/or skid steer an asset;
  • An ability and willingness to work shift work (day and evening), weekends and holidays as required;
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel); computer proficiency required;
  • Solid manufacturing and/or material handling industry experience required.
