Administrative Assistant - 1 Year Contract

What will you do?
  • Issue petty cash and balance the ledger daily; prepare requisition for replenishment of petty cash; submit relevant documentation to Payroll and Accounts Receivable and maintain files accordingly;
  • Create purchase orders using Great Plains (software); have purchase orders approved, received, batched and submit to Accounts Payable in a timely manner;  submit monthly accrual report;
  • Upload, rename and file photos and audit videos of material in-transit;
  • Validate and enter data into “Time and Attendance Program”;
  • Coordinate the issuance and collection of swipe cards for all staff;
  • Update employee contact list and daily production report;
  • Assist Scale and Plant Manager with other duties as assigned;

What will you bring?
  • Grade 12 or GED equivalency;  job related post-secondary education considered an asset;
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience working in a related administrative role;
  • Proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel); excellent data entry and keyboarding skills;
  • working knowledge of “time and attendance programs” and “purchase order systems” an asset;
  • Strong mathematical aptitude; sharp attention to detail;
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as necessary;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • A desire and comfort in working within a manufacturing/plant facility;
  • Experience in the waste management and recycling industry preferred;
  • A friendly personality combined with a “roll-up your sleeves and get it done attitude”!
