Reporting to the Corporate Director of Human Resources, the Coordinator, Recruitment and Outreach is an employment specialist who will collaborate, create and deliver recruitment strategies and tactics to identify, attract and recruit drivers and other in-demand frontline positions to Emterra Group.  He/she will also be responsible for strategies to elevate Emterra Group’s driver and frontline position recruitment brand and leverage technology to bring the strategies to life. The successful incumbent will build strategic partnerships with multiple stakeholders within and outside of the Company. Collaboration, resourcefulness, creativity and strong project management experience is paramount to the success of this newly created role. Key Tasks:  
  • Manage the foreign worker sourcing, intake and settlement program;
  • Develop and execute strategies that deliver eligible drivers and other in-demand frontline positions (e.g. mechanics, millwrights, general labourers, etc.);
  • Acts as a business partner to the business and operations and works with them to create a pipeline of qualified candidates to and for hire;
  • Manage the program to attract workers from other provinces;
  • Identify and build strategic partnerships with external organizations that specialize in the recruitment of drivers and other in-demand frontline positions;
  • Build and leverage external partnerships with immigrant, newcomer, Indigenous and refugee communities;
  • Responsible for building the pipeline of driver and other key front-line positions through screening applications for the HR team and/or hiring manager to review;
  • Identify social media tactics to expand and improve the Emterra Recruitment Brand;
  • Develop sustainable talent hiring plans and strategies;
  • Design, plan and coordinate Emterra Group’s driver recruitment branding activities;
  • Provide subject matter expertise at internal and external career events and speaking forums;
  • Work with the Corporate Director of Human Resources and operational leaders within Emterra Group to analyze long term organizational driver and other in-demand frontline positions hiring and retention needs and tailor outreach accordingly;
  • Compile and analyze exit statistics and develop strategies to retain current talent;
  • Manage and adhere to recruitment and sourcing budget; and
  • Coordinate career fairs and similar events.
 
Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal, teambuilding and oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization in a multi-cultural environment and outside stakeholders;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, deal with high volume recruiting and work effectively under pressure;
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite programs, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook;
  • Exceptional project management skills with proven track record of delivering recruitment programs and initiatives within a set time and budget;
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely and effectively in a team environment within all levels of the organization working toward common goals and sharing accountability;
  • Proactive and highly results oriented; and
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills to effectively communicate to a diverse group of stakeholders.
 
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Human Resources or related discipline preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience);
  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in the recruitment industry preferably in the transportation industry, manufacturing industry or within an agency;
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), ATS, and HRIS software;
  • Experience in hiring workers from outside of Canada and helping with the immigration of such workers;
  • Experience in delivering successful recruitment strategies that span across multiple locations;
  • Experience with various applicant tracking systems;
  • Experience with multiple branding and search technologies including the strategic use of social media and emerging sourcing tools; and
  • Ability to travel as required up to 15%.
